what is a wlan?
An acronym for Wireless Local Area Networking, WLAN is a local area network (LAN) which uses ultra-high frequency radio signals instead of cable to transmit data over distances of a few hundred feet.
WLANs can be installed just about anywhere. WLANS have both advantages & disadvantages over the traditional wired LAN, & with careful installation & configuration they are more than a match for the traditional wired network within the typical small-to-medium sized business.
